How To Save Edited Photos From Instagram Without Posting:
Saving edited photos from Instagram without posting them is quite simple, despite claims suggesting otherwise. Follow the steps below to save your edited photos without posting them on Instagram:
Step 1: Open Instagram & take the photo
To begin, open the Instagram app on your mobile device and log in with your username and password. Once logged in, navigate to the home page of your account.
In the top right corner of the home screen, locate an icon featuring a “plus (+)” symbol. This icon is used to post photos and videos on Instagram.
To edit a photo, you first need to select or capture a photo. After tapping the “+ icon”, you’ll be presented with two options: one to take a photo using the Instagram camera, and the other to choose a photo from your gallery. Choose according to your preference.
Tap on the “+ icon” in the top right corner of the screen, then select “Post”. If you want to capture a photo, tap on the camera icon located on the right side, just below the photo.
Alternatively, if you prefer to select from your gallery, tap and swipe up below the photo, then choose the desired photo. Simply tap on the image you want to edit, and it will appear on the screen.
Step 2: Choose any FILTER & tap on the blue arrow [→]
After capturing or selecting the photo from the gallery, tap on the blue ‘Arrow →’ located in the top right corner of the screen. This action will take you to the ‘Filter & Edit’ tab. The selected photo will be displayed in the upper section, with various filters listed below.
Swipe left to explore more filters. Tap on the desired filter to add it to your photo. Below the filters, on the bottom right, you’ll find the ‘Edit’ option.
If you wish to further edit your photo, such as adjusting brightness or contrast, tap on ‘Edit’ and make the desired adjustments.
Once you’re satisfied with the filter and any edits made to the photo, tap on the blue “Arrow →” in the top right corner to proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Add > Location & type > Caption
Now, you’ll find yourself on the ‘New Post’ tab, where you can write a caption and add a location. This step is simply to finalize the posting process; you have the freedom to write any caption and add any location.
Click on the space labeled “Write a caption…” in front of the photo and type your desired caption. Then, below the photo, tap on ‘Add location’ and choose the location you wish to add.
From this point onward, proceed with caution with the following steps.
Step 4: Enable Airplane Mode & Turn Off WiFi
After writing a caption and adding the location, the next step is to disable the internet connection. Posting is impossible without internet access, so you need to turn it off.
To do this, swipe down the screen to access the quick settings box. From there, enable ‘Airplane’ mode and disable WiFi. Ensure your device is disconnected from any internet network.
Once this is done, swipe up to close the quick settings box and return to the Instagram ‘New Post’ tab.
Step 5: Tap on ‘ 🗸 ‘ and it will be pending
After turning off the internet, the next step is to tap on the checkmark icon (🗸) located at the top right of the screen. This action will initiate the posting process for your photo.
However, due to the lack of internet connection, the post will be pending. You’ll receive a notification stating, “Will auto-post when possible,” indicating that the photo is ready to post but is awaiting an internet connection.
In the next step, you will discard (delete) the post. Even after turning the internet back on, the photo will not be posted.
Step 6: Find that Draft and ‘Discard’
When you tap on the tick icon to post, you’ll return to the home page of your account, where you’ll receive a notification stating, “Will auto-post when possible.” Look to the extreme right corner of this notification, where you’ll see ‘Three dots.’ Tap on these ‘Three dots’ and select ‘Discard.’ Confirm the deletion of the post by tapping ‘Discard’ again.
Even with an internet connection, the photo will not be posted on Instagram.
Step 7: Open Photo Gallery & find that edited photo
Once you’ve discarded the post, close the Instagram app and open your phone’s gallery. In the photo gallery, locate the edited photo within the Instagram folder.
Find the edited photo and then you can safely turn off airplane mode and switch on your internet connection.
And that’s all there is to editing and saving photos.
